EASTMOND MWENDA'S ART REVIEW...

(Created by Austin Malonza)
Just like any other top ranked Filmmakers in Kenya,EastMond Mwenda is one of the top ranked Filmmakers i have ever recognised.
His hardwork and Consistency is what most people will always tend to look upto him for and really want to achieve it...He not only happens to be a filmmaker, but a several    Award winning Filmmaker like in the Kalasha 2020 Awards for his first  feature Film  "Mukami the Movie" that he wrote and directed back when he was a student at Moi University.
Eastmond Is not only known for being a director but also known to be a well  Cinematographer,Video Editor, Script writer  and a Corporate Photographer. Apart  from the  feature Film Mukami, the  hardworking filmmaker has managed to  have written and directed other short films such as  Hoodwatch,Social distance, Dear Diary,  Alive Again,The Case,Amuo,Don't break my heart,Entangled,Pendo Tasa and Sio Milele that won the Filamu Festival 2021.

For his first feature Film as a student at the    Moi University, "Mukami" is a Kenyan Film       like no other that is based from the roots of   Africa...The Film was shot in Tharaka  Nithi County in a Village known as Karithini    Village and it was set to premiere On 22nd  of  January 2022.With Mukami, the Film addresses the Challenges that girls face in a gender bias Society and the solution to it. It is based on two twins Mukami(Yvonne Adego) and Mugambi(Leumas Njambara) but who again are treated differently by thier Mother(Millicent Achieng) because of their Cultural Society that brings out Male Chauvinism.

Despite the struggles Mukami passes through
at home and also in her school as the rest of her classmates tend to bully her, she doesn't give up her dreams so easily and this is because of her teacher Makena  (Gaceri Njagi) who keeps on encouraging her not to give up. The Film itself Mukami has won 4 Films awards.

As for Someone whom i would look upto and want to be a role model, I would say Eastmond Mwenda... We all have role  models who we keep on looking upto and achieve the best as they did and yes it's possible if we do keep our focus to what we want and believe in God.
